The goal of this summative assessment is for students to demonstrate master of three standards related to functions.  The questions encourage students to define a function by carefully analyzing some different relationships. In some of these relationships, one quantity can be determined in terms of the other while in others this is not possible. This offers students the opportunity to see what is special about a function, namely that to each input there corresponds one and only one output. Other questions compare the differences that students have found and relate them back to the equation and the graph of functions. Finally, students are encouraged to show their work by uploading a picture of one solution from the assessment items.  This is a common expectation for the class and students are familiar with the steps to upload a picture using their Chromebooks.
