TPACK - A framework for integrating technology and elevating student learning

 

TPACK is a framework for integrating technology into classroom lessons.  In the example above, an 8th grade mathematics teacher begins by identifying the essential learning for the class.  This is the C or content knowledge.  The objective of the lesson is for students to determine whether a table, graph or number set is a function.  Next, the pedagogy or method of teaching is achieved through the use of pre-recorded lessons.  By inverting the order of the instruction, students may use class time to engage is activities that deepen their understanding of the concept.  Finally, the technological tool use is Flipgrid.  Here, students created a short video displaying and describing the steps to solve a problem presented by the teacher.  The goal of TPACK is the enhance and transform teaching and learning to improve outcomes for students.
